Department Responsibilities

The Town Clerk/Tax Collector serves a three-year term and coordinates all elections and town meetings, assisted by the Supervisors of the Checklist.

The Town Clerk/Tax Collector handles voter registration, motor vehicle registration, property taxes, dog licensing, and licenses (such as Vital Records and Marriage Licenses).

Town Clerk's Hours

The Town Clerk’s Office will be unable to process marriage licenses on Friday, September 2. We apologize for this inconvenience.

Ballot Machine Testing

The Town Clerk’s Office will be testing the Accuvote ballot machines for the September 13th State Primary Election on Wednesday, September 7, 2016, at 9:00am in the Board of Selectmen’s Meeting Room. Anyone wishing to observe the testing may do so at that time.

Candidates for State Primary Election

The state primary will be held on Tuesday, September 13, 2016, from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm at the Community Center. A list of Republican candidates and Democratic candidates are available here.

Voter Registration

Tuesday, September 6, is the last day to register to vote during normal hours at the Town Clerk’s Office for the State Primary Election on September 13th. The Supervisors of the Checklist will hold a session on Tuesday, September 6, from 7:00-7:30 p.m. at Town Hall.

Ballot Counting

The official ballots for the September Primary scheduled for Tuesday, September 13, 2016 were received at the Town Clerk/Tax Collectors’ office on Thursday, August 25, 2016. The Town Clerk/Tax Collector’s Office will be counting the ballots during regular working hours until completion. Anyone wishing to observe the counting may do so during office hours. Boat Registrations Accepted

The Town Clerk's office accepts boat registrations. There is a $5.00 agent fee for each transaction.
