Curbside Recyclables

  • Review “Recycle Right” on last page of 2023 Services Guide – Hudsonnh.gov.       For items that will not fit into your Blue Tote/Cart contact the Hudson Public Works Dept: 603-886-6018, or to purchase an additional Blue Tote/Cart call Pinnard Waste Systems: 603-623-7933.

Batteries and Light Bulbs

  • Cars, tractors/mowers: Trade in old batteries when buying new one
    Batteries Plus Bulbs: 603-883-5060, Amherst St. Nashua accepts all rechargeable batteries including car & truck
    with no fee. They also accept non-rechargeable batteries, spent light bulbs, fluorescent tubes and more.
    Call for info on fees. Regular household batteries (AAA-D) can go into your black trash bin.

Pet Related Items, Unscented – clay cat litter, detergent, dryer sheets, towels, (NO food):

  • Call Hudson Animal Control Officer with questions as to what items they need and/or are accepting: 603-889-PETS (7387).

Carbon Monoxide Detectors

  • Most do not contain radioactive material and can be put into the trash after removing the battery Smoke Detectors: They contain radioactive material and must be returned to the manufacturer. For current info on proper disposal contact NH Dept. of Environmental Services www.des.nh.gov.

Gently Used Clothing and Furniture

  • Hudson Scouts – White “shed” with yellow signage at Hudson Grange parking lot.
  • Planet Aid bins www.planetaid.org.
  • Goodwill on Wason Rd., Hudson.
  • SAVERS on Daniel Webster Hwy, Nashua www.savers.com.
  • Unusable Fabric: Bundle, label "for shredding", deliver to Goodwill Wason Rd. Hudson.

Oil (Used):

  • Auto Zone: (603) 578-3851, Hudson Mall Shopping Center, (77 Derry Rd.)
  • O'Reilly Auto Parts: (603) 402-7091, (66 Derry Rd.)
  • Both: No fee, no more than 5 gallons per day of used oil per resident.

 

Pills and Medicines

  • Prescription and over the counter to Hudson Police Dept: 603-886-6011.
    • Drop off medicine in original container with personal name removed - See "drop-box” in vestibule.

Plastic Bags (Clean and dry, no frozen food bags)

  • Hannaford, Market Basket, and Walmart - all in Hudson

Propane Tanks

  • CANNOT be brought to the Transfer Station or put in the trash!   
  • Hudson True Value: 603-883-3100 Derry Rd. Hudson - Accepts old empty propane tanks for a fee of $8.00/ea. If purchasing a new tank the fee is waived.

Syringes and Epi Pens

  • St. Joseph Hospital: 603-882-3000 (questions-ask for "Info Desk").
    • Gray box in the main lobby on left side next to blue medicine drop box.
  • Southern NH Medical Center: 603-577-2000 (questions - ask for "Operator”)
    • Drop Box at entrance to emergency room next to pill drop box - open 24hrs.
  • Each item must be in a closed "hard shell" container of any type.

    • $3.00/per tire recycling fee

“Discover Books” Blue Bin

  • Rodgers Memorial Library - At edge of parking lot.  
  • No items that are water damaged or moldy! Damaged publications can go into your Blue Bin – Recycling.

    • Non-book items such as VHS, cassette tapes and vinyl records
    • Non-book items such as CD’s, DVD’s, and video games
