Town of Hudson Master Plan

In New Hampshire, a community’s Master Plan is a big-picture guide that helps shape the town’s future. It lays out what residents want their community to look and feel like in the years ahead and sets goals to help get there. The plan covers important topics such as housing, transportation, natural resources, public facilities, and community services.

The Planning Board is responsible for creating and updating the Master Plan. Through this work, the Board helps ensure that decisions about development, zoning, and town investments are thoughtful, coordinated, and aligned with the community’s vision. To help shape the Master Plan—including its goals, objectives, and vision—several public input sessions were held in the fall of 2019 with support from town staff, volunteer board members, and the Nashua Regional Planning Commission.

Hudson updated its Master Plan in 2025, taking a close look at the town’s past growth, current conditions, and future needs. The update includes a detailed assessment of Hudson’s infrastructure—like roads, water and sewer systems, public buildings, and recreational spaces—to better understand what is working well and where improvements may be needed. It also considers trends in population, housing, and the local economy to help the town prepare for the future.
