A Tribute to Courage and Sacrifice

The Hudson Fire Department has established a solemn and beautiful memorial located within Benson Park, to honor the brave men and women who have served and continue to serve the community. This tribute also pays homage to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty for the Town of Hudson.

History and Re-dedication

This memorial is a testament to the courage and dedication of Hudson's firefighters. Originally dedicated on May 21, 2000, the memorial was situated at Hammond Park located at the intersection of Central Street and Lowell Road where it stood for almost 25 years.

In the spring of 2025, the memorial was thoughtfully relocated to the serene surroundings of Benson Park to offer greater visibility and accessibility to visitors.

Annual Memorial Service and Re-Dedication Ceremony

We invite you to join us on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at 9:00AM at Benson Park for our annual memorial service. This year, the service will include a special re-dedication ceremony, marking the memorial's new home and continuing legacy.

Let us gather to honor the past, support the present, and inspire the future.

Honored Firefighter

The memorial honors the memory and service of:

James A. Taylor
Firefighter - Engine 4
Died: July 27, 1981

Firefighter James Taylor's tragic loss on July 27, 1981, serves as a poignant reminder of the inherent risks that brave individuals face while serving their communities. On that fateful day, while responding to an emergency incident on Wason Road, the vehicle he was in rolled over, leading to his untimely death on-scene.

His sacrifice underscores the courage and dedication of firefighters who put their lives on the line to protect others. Firefighter Taylor's memory continues to inspire and remind us of the importance of honoring and supporting those who commit themselves to public safety. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those he served and those who continue to serve with the same unwavering commitment.
