Welcome to the Hudson Electric Aggregation Committee (HEAC)

The HEAC was formed as an ad hoc subcommittee of the Hudson Sustainability Committee with the purpose of researching the opportunity of bringing Community Power Aggregation (CPA) to Hudson’s electricity customers. On 10/14/21, the HEAC was authorized to represent Hudson with the Community Power Coalition of New Hampshire (CPCNH). The voters of Hudson approved the HEAC-developed Community Power Plan warrant article on 3/28/23.

The goal of community power aggregation is to offer customers more competitive electricity rates than the default supplier (Eversource) as well as to offer more green energy sources to customers who choose that option. The cost reductions are accomplished by aggregating the electric load of many customers and then purchasing power directly from suppliers on the open market on behalf of those customers.

The Hudson Board of Selectmen voted on 10/3/23 to proceed with creating Hudson Community Power (HCP). Further, on 10/24/23 the Board of Selectmen voted that Hudson should partner with Community Power Coalition of New Hampshire in managing Hudson Community Power.

The launch process for Hudson Community Power is underway. A mailing to all electricity customers in Hudson went out via USPS on January 24th. The letter is very detailed and will likely answer most of the questions you may have. Please contact the CPCNH Customer Service number (1-866-603-POWR) if you did not receive this mailing or have any enrollment-related questions.

Note that there was a Public Information Meeting with a Q&A period the evening of January 31st at the Rodgers Memorial Library. That meeting was recorded by HCTV and will be available for viewing on the HCTV web site. A copy of the presentation slides is available here.

The CPCNH Customer Service number is (1-866-603-POWR) and the full web site for Hudson Community Power is now live.
