Administrative Bureau

The Administrative Bureau is under the command of Captain Steven McElhinney, who has served the Town of Hudson for over 16 years.  The Administrative Bureau is comprised of two main divisions; Support Services Division and Information Division.  The main focus of the Bureau is to provide administrative support to the Hudson Police Department employees and programs.  The purpose of the Administrative Bureau is to set and maintain policy, provide departmental stability and to ensure that the specific goals and objectives of the Department are accomplished.

The Support Services Division is responsible for all training of Hudson Police employees, fleet, building and equipment maintenance, the School Resource Officer program and all the community events/programs that are offered.  The Support Services Division is also responsible for the recruitment and hiring of future employees.

The Information Division consists of three subdivisions; CALEA Accreditation, Communications, and Records.  CALEA Accreditation is a means for developing or improving upon an agency’s relationship with the community. It strengthens our agency’s accountability and facilitates our pursuit of professional excellence.  Communications is committed to providing you with the most efficient and professional service during an emergency.  Our Dispatchers receive and dispatch police and emergency calls. This unit is active 24 hours a day; 7 days a week.  Records consists of two Record Clerks.  They verify and maintain all reports taken and received by the Hudson Police Department.

The employees within the Administrative Bureau actively work to identify ways of providing enhanced services to the community.  We value the Community Policing philosophy and strive to improve the quality of life with programs and our commitment to safety.  For any questions regarding the Administrative Bureau, contact Captain McElhinney by telephone at (603) 816-2244 or by email at smcelhinney@hudsonnh.gov
